Since I have posted last, I have really gotten into sports photography. It is my new favorite type of photography. It’s extremely fast paced and you only have a short period of time to get a great shot, but when you do it feels amazing. I’ve shot Track & Field, Swimming, Skateboarding, BMX, Soccer, and (as of today) Lacrosse, but of all of them I think I like shooting soccer the most. Next month, I’ll be able to get a press pass to shoot one of the Real Salt Lake games, so I’m trying to practice as much as possible before then so I know what to do.

Another great benefit of sports photography is all of the additional equipment you get to use (if it is available). Since I shoot the school games, I get to use the D700 and 200-400mm f4, which is way too expensive for me to ever be able to afford. I shot the above and below shots at 1/2000 of a second, which pretty much stops anything.

After I shot a few sports games, I wrote an article on wikihow on how to photograph sports that got featured this last week. I was ecstatic.
