Within the past month, I have done two engagement photo shoots at Antelope Island in Syracuse, Utah (yep, same place as the last post from about three years ago). The pictures turned out amazing, due to the island’s beautiful scenery and world-famous sunset views. I have never really shot too much directly into the setting sun, so both shoots were a little nerve racking,  constantly trying to adjust the exposure and bracketing to give me some insurance. The wonderful scenery did not come without its pitfalls though; for the entire duration of the shoot, the couple and I were constantly being bitten by small biting gnats.  In addition to the bugs, one of the scenic sites required a short but semi-strenuous hike to get to, and i had forgotten to suggest the couple bring a change of shoes. Emily (pictured), however, was a trooper, hiking along the path and over large boulders for about an hour in wedges without complaining. Needless to say, we were all relieved when the shoot ended and we were sitting in the comfortable car. While driving on the causeway back from the island, we were assaulted by massive clouds of bugs, the aftermath of which you can see in this instagram photo. Details of the second shoot will follow in the next post, Antelope Island Adventures Part 2!
